Apple claims the GPU offers performance that is up to 40% faster than that of the A19 Pro. The chip also includes a Dual 16-core Neural Engine totaling 32 cores. A redesigned thermal system positions the processor closer to a larger vapor chamber, which provides three times the surface area of the previous design. Apple states this configuration allows for up to 40% higher sustained performance.
Battery enhancements are most notable in eSIM-only models, which utilize space previously used for a physical SIM tray. According to Apple, the iPhone 18 Pro can deliver up to 36 hours of video playback during testing, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max can last up to 45 hours. Wired charging can boost the battery to 50% in roughly 15 minutes. eSIM-only variants will be launched in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, among other markets.
iOS 27 introduces Siri AI and expanded Apple Intelligence features
Running on iOS 27, both iPhone 18 Pro models support the latest Apple Intelligence capabilities. Siri AI enters beta on September 14 for compatible devices configured in English. Support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish will follow in October. Siri AI can leverage personal context from messages, emails, and photos to respond to requests, and it can also act on information displayed on the screen.
